Gift Aid
How Does Gift Aid Work?
If you are a UK tax payer, your donation can be worth even more with Gift Aid at no extra cost to you. The scheme works like this...
For every £1 you donate to DOST we can claim tax relief of 28 pence from the Government. We can do this for all donations given to us from 6th April 2000 onwards.
Now all donations from UK taxpayers - large or small, regular or one-off, whatever the method of payment will qualify for tax relief.
If you pay tax at the higher rate you can claim further tax relief in your self-assessment tax return.
You can cancel this declaration at any time by notifying the charity.
For your donation to qualify for tax relief, the amount of income tax you pay must at least equal to the tax DOST will receive from your donation.
Remember to notify us if you no longer pay an amount of income tax or capital gains tax equal to the tax we reclaim on your donations (currently) 28 pence for every £1 you give.
If you are unsure whether your donations qualifies for Gift Aid Tax Relief contact Dost UK or ask your local tax office for leaflet R113 'Gift Aid'.
Please notify us if you change your name or address.
